Our salon is cage-free by design. Every dog moves through at their own pace in a calming environment built for comfort — not a conveyor belt.
Regular grooming isn't vanity — it's health. We recommend every 6 to 8 weeks depending on your dog's size, coat and needs, so their skin, coat and wellbeing stay on track.
Nervous pup? First-timer? The EmBARKing Session is a complimentary 10–15 minute nose-around — no grooming, just a chance to sniff out the space and settle their nerves before the real thing.
Pricing guides effective from 1 July 2025 — based on breed, weight, coat type and temperament. Additional fees may apply for matted coats or breed-specific styling.
Bath in quality products, cage-free blow-dry, nail trim, ear clean and brush out — finished with a cologne spritz and accessory. Perfect for your puppy's first groom (up to 24 weeks).
1–2 hoursEverything in the Freshen Groom plus clean-up of the sanitary area, bottom, feet, undercarriage, foreface, ears and tail.
2–3 hoursThe full works — all-over clip and style of the head included. The complete Hamlet Hounds treatment for dogs who deserve the regal finish.
3–4 hoursHydrobath, high-velocity blow-dry, nail trim, ear clean and deshed brush-out — purpose-built for short and long double coats dropping their seasonal load.
By coatSarah had been working in the travel industry for just under ten years when the world stopped. During that disruption, a quiet voice grew louder — unofficially nicknamed the "dog whisperer" her whole life, her love for dogs was never just a hobby.
From an idea that flourished during the pandemic, Hamlet Hounds was born. Born and bred in Melbourne's inner north, Sarah opened her salon in Thornbury to serve the fur-parents of her own community. Local ethos is everything here.
The logo carries Peppa — Sarah's first dog as an adult, a cheeky, outgoing Labrador who passed just months after her 14th birthday in 2021. Peppa's inked paw print is the trademark icon for Hamlet Hounds. A reminder of her beautiful soul, pressed into every groom.
